the beers
All our beers are brewed with finest malt, local spring water, whole cone hops & in some cases locally foraged seasonal ingredients. They are all either cask or bottle conditioned and we never add any sugar to them. In addition, they're all vegetarian & vegan friendly..
We brew four core beers which we aim to have in stock all year round. These are:
HETTON HOWLER our best bitter

Inspired by the strong winds which prevail at Hetton Law, Hetton Howler is a traditional bitter with a rich malty taste and hoppy overtones that will 'blow you away'

A light golden beer with a good balance of malt & fruity hops.
Don't be fooled though, as the sweetness is followed through by a sting of bitterness.

Our delicious seasonal special containing this year's fresh hops grown in Northumberland.

An Autmun Amber...
We created this awesome Autumn amber in memory of our own Hetton Law Hero, a Major in the RA (TA) who was killed whilst on active service in 1943.
You can see his beautiful memorial window in nearby Doddington Church.
We thought we'd try a lager as a tribute to the group of friends that we used to meet every Friday night at 18.01 before Covid 19 stopped us. Let's hope that Friday nights will resume normal service soon!
Here's our take on a certain famous lager - crisp, clean and refreshing. Of course you can drink it anytime , but we think that Friday night at one minute past 6pm is a perfect time to start.

Rammed full of Christmas cheer, this rich ruby ale is full of flavour with a feast of Fuggles, a good dollop of Goldings and a hint of warm spice.

This life size statue of St Cuthbert is carved from a single tree trunk by our talented young neighbour, Tom Fiddes.
You can find it on St Cuthbert's Way at Hazelrigg, just down the road from Hetton Law.
